MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTist
Growing up, I was an adventurer—always eager to explore new activities. This self-directed exploration, thankfully tempered with caution, inevitably led to missteps and mishaps (including a memorable tumble from a circling amusement park ride!). These experiences, though sometimes painful, ultimately fostered resilience.
This thirst for adventure propelled me through diverse fields of study, including science, music, dance, visual arts, business, theater, puppetry, writing, sewing, acting, cartooning, filmmaking, and storytelling. Over the years, the recurring question, "Why don't you stick to one thing?" echoed around me, along with comparisons and well-meaning but ultimately discouraging comments.
Eventually, the weight of these comments buried my enthusiasm. It lay dormant for years until a perceptive person pointed out how I was already using my diverse skills to help others achieve their goals. This realization sparked a change within me. Enough was enough.
My vision is to create engaging visual stories for tweens, empowering them to embrace their authentic selves, develop common sense, and apply critical thinking skills to make sound life decisions. As a child, I recognized the importance of these skills and shared my vision of teaching them to children with older adults. While their warnings about potential consequences were well-intentioned, they also instilled an unconscious fear that held me back. I understand their concern; too many adults lack these very skills, with devastating results. I don't claim to have all the answers, but I'm committed to doing my part, using all the skills I've acquired, to make a positive impact.
